I want to take this opportunity to welcome all of my new readers. I am excited to read your future posts and learn more about your view points. This blog is just one way that I use to communicate with students. It is estimated that roughly 350 million people worldwide read or have their own blogs. This past year about 65% of the global online population visited blogs and social networks. As these numbers increase BY THE DAY it is only logical that schools start to address this "new" form of communication. As an English teacher, whose job it is to prepare my students for a world beyond my classroom, it is imperative that I expose students to thought provoking online networking practices.
I most often use my blog to share information about my classes, my ideas, and the world. Sometimes I preach, sometimes I rant, and sometimes I rave - but I always have fun doing it. And that is all I ask of you...have fun with your blog. Share information about your chosen topic in a fun way. Incorporate images, videos, quotes, and links. This is your chance to share your ideas with the world. Don't disappoint your readers!

If blogging is such a well known thing to do in todays world, then how come the entire school system continues to revolve around books? We have all the technology plus more to upload information books and other sources all into an online webpage for billions to see and learn from. Your point makes sense that you should teach students about the new online world, but also maybe not all students are ready and willing to learn these new ways.
Blogger.com is a new and exciting daily routine to me now! I enjoy going on and checking if i have any comments or who has viewed me. On my last post I recieved 2 comments!! One positive, one negative, but still super exciting. I think this will be a fun assignment to look foward to throughout the year. Thx for the Welcome!
I would have to say I agree with my fellow peers that have previously commented on this blog, for blogging is now a part of my daily routine. I think that through blogging we can get to know each other more and communicate with each other, and communication is the basis for all kind of relationships and friendships. I look forward to blogging and commenting. Thanks for introducing us to this world!
I really enjoy this new blogging assignment. At first I wasn't too excited about it, I thought it was just going to be another hard assignment. But now I find myself logging on almost everyday. Its great to expand your knowledge on your topic. I learn more each and every time I blog. I'm very excited to continue blogging !
Thank you for introducing me into the blog world of communication. Other than just using facebook to communicate with my fellow peers. This is a great source on how to express yourself. I'm very excited starting this assignment. Really this doesn't even feel like an assignment, which is a very good thing. I'm glad for once that us students are experiencing the world rather than hearing about it.
I have never used blogging before in my life. When you introduced us to blogging it seemed like another thing i had to do. Now i know how to use blogging it has become interesting. I am able to read other peoples opinions on issues instead of the media informing us with false statements. I think blogging was a great idea and plan to use it not only for your class but start other blogs so i can express my issues on other concerns.
Even though sometimes I think of this blogging assignment a real drag, it really has helped me understand alot of new things. Also I learned just alot of random facts to.
Since I did a blog on Taoism I know now that the ying yang symbol does not represent good and evil, but two different kinds of forces. I find it actually a very hard concept to understand.
Probably my favorite blog is the Flying spaghetti monster religion. I honestly thought as a researched it that it was a real religion. But actually as I found out it was a sarcastic movement to make fun of the intelligent design theory. Not to mention it led to me learning more about Intelligent Design.
This blogging assignment may be a drag at times, but I can at least realize that it has some benefit to me as a student and it allows me to share my thoughts and feeling with the world.
